On this Father’s Day I thought it only fitting to pay tribute to all of the totally cool dads that have nervously stood in front of my camera this past year and then melted at the sight of their child…

I love discovering new locations and the Newman family was happy to do a little discovery right along with me! I met Nicolina, Dan and sweet Ava and we headed to a downtown hidden oasis for their family session. Ava was definitely a trooper and I adored how her Daddy carefully wiped off her little feet when they got dirty! It also appears that Ava is going to inherit her Mommy’s gorgeous red hair (I had red hair for a brief moment when I was about one years old but I was not meant to keep it-having a father with blonde hair and a mother with black hair pretty much negated that!) Ava seems destined for hers! So we hung out in the park, walked around a little, fit in one clothing change and captured this…
On this Memorial Day we honor and remember those who have served, those who are serving and those that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. My father served in the United States Navy for twenty years. He was on the USS Enterprise, off the coast of Vietnam, the day I was born (the telegram he received announcing my birth is safely guarded in my baby book.) On this Memorial Day I also want to honor my Mother and all of the spouses and families that serve right along with their loved one. On this memorial day I pray for every service member, spouse, and family member that they may have peace, comfort and support as they give to this country their expertise, talents and sacrifice…

I’ve said it before but it bears saying again and again…I adore this family! Lukas is now 18 months old and getting cuter and cuter by the day! I am already looking forward to his 2 year old photo shoot…such an amazing time of exploration and curiosity. I have been capturing Lukas’s life since he was born…here, here and here! On this day we headed out to New Smyrna and went to the Smyrna Dunes-a favorite place for the family to go! Almost immediately Lukas was drawn to the sand and I don’t think there were too many moments that he did not have a fistful of sand ready to toss! And…seriously…who can resist that smile!
